The Yacht-Master II was specifically designed for regatta starts, which generally occur in three times marked by different sound and visual signals: the start of the countdown, the preparatory phase and the start of the race. Access to the countdown programming function is through the rotating bezel, thanks to the Ring Command, a system of interaction between non-mechanical elements and movement developed and patented by Rolex. Yacht-Master nautical watches are recognizable by their graduated bi-directional rotating bezel. sixty minutes in relief. The Yacht-Master 42 is equipped with a matte black ceramic Cerachrom disc that blends harmoniously with the black lacquered dial. Crafted from 18-karat white gold, the new watch marks the introduction of this precious metal into a Yacht-Master model. In addition, like all Rolex professional watches, the Yacht-Master 42 offers great readability in all circumstances, especially in the dark, thanks to its Chromalight display. On the other hand, its wide hands and large indexes are covered with a long-lasting luminescent material. This new model is equipped with the caliber 3235, at the forefront of watchmaking technology, which is introduced for the first time in a Yacht-Master watch. Another highlight is that the Oyster case of the Yacht-Master 42, an example of robustness and reliability, guarantees a water resistance of up to one hundred meters.
