Dolce Vita

Once again Longines, the brand of the winged hourglass, presents novelties in its emblematic Dolce Vita collection. Its name immediately refers to the unforgettable film starred by Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg and Anouk Aimée, directed by the incomparable Federico Fellini. The Longines Dolce Vita collection is inspired by a model from the 1920s characterized by its beautiful rectangular case. The design subtly combines geometric lines and the softness of curves. Since its creation in nineteen ninety-seven, year after year the brand delicately expands the line, without losing its identity or its main inspiration: the sweetness of living the Italian way. Wearing one of these watches transports us to reverie on the terrace of an Italian town square; to a walk through the alleys of Rome; or to a perfect and magical rest by the sea. To expand the collection, this year Longines presents new rectangular case dials. Two of them are pure and sober 23.30 x 37 mm matte white spheres that are here to stay. Inside, elegance presents two alternatives: the indexes are elongated; or indices and Roman numerals are combined at three, six, nine and twelve o’clock.

These distinguished models are completed with a stainless steel bracelet. Another novelty is the version with a starry night blue dial, for which you can choose a matching leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. The size of the case is 23.30 x 37 mm and the dial has applied indices. This piece gives the collection a bright touch and is inspired by fascinating Italian evenings. For those who want larger spheres, Longines offers a new size XL within the Dolce Vita collection that can be perfectly adapted to male wrists. The 28.20 x 47 mm case includes an automatic movement. The flinqué dial bears painted Roman numerals and is accompanied by a blue leather strap. The collection has a power reserve of 40 hours and a tightness of 3 bar, equivalent to 30 meters.

However, the most notable novelty is perhaps the addition of colors to the line. This is part of the aesthetic decision of being able to customize the watches to suit each person. This is why Longines is introducing a beautiful interchangeable strap system for the first time, available in a rainbow of eight new colors. The season one palette brings bright yellow, flaming orange, elegant taupe, luminous coral, soft brown, deep pine green, traveler turquoise and fresh lime green tones. Available in sizes S and M, the leather straps will allow owners of the collection’s watches to play and have fun depending on the occasion. Innovative and elegant, Longines’ proposals show off its expertise dating back to 1832, the year in which the house was founded in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. In addition to the beauty of its creations, Longines is recognized worldwide for its experience as a timekeeper for world championships.
